Three collaborations in, Oris has officially completed its Muppets trilogy. After the ProPilot X Kermit Edition and last year's ProPilot X Miss Piggy Edition, the brand is handing the spotlight to The Great Gonzo. If you know the character, you already understand why this one has potential. If you don't, here's the short version: Gonzo is a deranged stuntman-showman of indeterminate species who debuted on The Muppet Show in 1977 by attempting to eat a rubber tire to Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee." He is, in other words, unhinged in the best possible way.
The ProPilot X is already one of Oris's boldest platforms. It's a skeletonized, technically aggressive aviation watch that doesn't really apologize for how much is going on. Gonzo, a character who has never apologized for anything, seems like a natural fit. The question is whether Oris actually leaned into that, or played it safe the way some collabs tend to do once a franchise gets big enough to be precious about.

The ProPilot X Gonzo Edition is built on the same ProPilot X architecture as its Muppets predecessors, powered by Oris Calibre 115, an in-house skeletonized movement with a ten-day power reserve. That part isn't new. What changes is everything on the surface, and that's where the character work happens.
The color palette pulls directly from Gonzo himself: his signature blue skin is reflected in the watch's tone, and the overall aesthetic leans into his chaotic, theatrical personality rather than softening it for mass appeal. The dial, or what you can see of it through the skeletonized construction, carries Gonzo-specific design details. This isn't a logo slapped on a standard release. The execution is integrated, which is what separates a real collaboration from a licensed product drop.
The Kermit Edition worked because the watch's color matched the frog. The Gonzo Edition works for a different reason: Gonzo's personality, chaotic, technically obsessive, a little ridiculous, actually matches the ProPilot X's character as a watch. That's harder to pull off, and rarer.
How It Compares to Kermit and Miss Piggy
The Kermit Edition was the crowd-pleaser. Green ceramic, immediately legible concept, easy to love. The Miss Piggy Edition went in a completely different direction, more maximalist, more fashion-forward, divisive in all the right ways. The Gonzo Edition slots in as the technically-minded one of the three.

Who This Is For
You need to be comfortable wearing something that generates conversation, because this watch will. The ProPilot X is already a statement piece without any Muppets involvement. Add Gonzo to the equation and you're not flying under the radar.
That said, if you've been following this trilogy and skipped the first two because neither Kermit's cheerfulness nor Miss Piggy's glamour resonated with you, this is probably your entry point. Gonzo is the Muppet for people who like things a little strange, a little technical, and not especially concerned with approval. The ProPilot X, with its exposed movement and assertive proportions, carries that energy naturally.

Oris has been smart about how it's run this trilogy. Each watch feels distinct. None of them feel cheap or cynical. For a mid-range Swiss brand trying to build cultural relevance without abandoning its watchmaking credibility, the Muppets series has been a genuinely well-executed experiment. The Gonzo Edition is the most technically coherent of the three, and arguably the most interesting to wear if you're a watch person first and a Muppets fan second.
Pricing and exact availability details are still filtering through, so check back as those land. But if you've been waiting to see where this trilogy ended up, the answer is: somewhere weirder and better than expected. Gonzo would approve.
