Havid Nagan is the independent watchmaking project of Aren Bazerkanian, a Los Angeles-based watch enthusiast whose path into the industry ran through F.P. Journe. A chance meeting with Pierre Halimi (General Manager of F.P. Journe Americas) led to a role as Director of Operations at the F.P. Journe boutique in Los Angeles, where Bazerkanian spent several years inside one of the most demanding independent watchmaking environments in the world before launching Havid Nagan as his own project.
The brand name is taken from the Armenian word havidenagan, meaning eternal - a direct reference to Bazerkanian's Armenian heritage. The project was launched on Kickstarter in 2019 and went fully independent in 2022 with the debut HN00 reference. Watches are designed in Los Angeles and produced in Switzerland, drawing on Swiss case-making, dial, and movement suppliers while keeping creative direction and customer relationships in California.
The catalogue grew through the early 2020s with the HN01 Lucine moon-phase (2023), which added Havid Nagan's first complication, and the Classic One (2025), which broadened the design language toward a more conventional dress register. Distribution is direct from the brand, and Havid Nagan sits within the small but growing cluster of US-domiciled independent projects whose founders came up through the wider independent watchmaking world rather than through traditional Swiss training routes.
