Man, Tissot has a great back catalogue. That’s a fact that’s easy to forget sometimes, especially as the Swatch Group brand is a big player in a more modern, sporty space. But they’ve certainly got some great heritage pieces (like the OG Visodate) in their lineup, and this on point ’70s wonder, the Tissot Heritage … ContinuedThe post RECOMMENDED READING: The Tissot 1973 Chronograph is funk-tastic appeared first on Time+Tide Watches.

Editor’s note: One of the easiest ways to freshen up a watch is to change the dial colour. Few colours are fresher than green, and in 2019 that trend doesn’t look like going away. Here’s a list we put together last year, of seven of the most envy-instilling green dials. Today we’re following up on … ContinuedThe post Going green never looked so good – 7 of the best green watches that prove it appeared first on Time+Tide Watches.

Editor’s note: I don’t know about you, but when I think of everyday watches, I default to round steel sports pieces. Of course, there might be some internalised bias going on here. Editor’s note: One of the greatest watch releases of 2018 was the brand new, revamped Seamaster Professional from Omega. At a Baselworld that failed to excite on many levels, Hublot revved up crowds with an entirely new model, a 90th birthday collaboration that is anything but for the elderly, a totally bonkers tattooist tie-in and a Spirit of Big Bang that is a true blue beauty. In the weeks and days leading up to Basel, the tension, speculation and near-hysteria around Rolex’s impending releases is palpable, and this year was no different. TAG Heuer’s Basel 2019 collection had a particularly clear focus, and that focus was Autavia. Two Broke Watch Snobs
As we make our way through Baselworld 2019's press day, it's already evident that, from a distance, this show feels quite different from what we've encountered in the past. Almost immediately, the Swatch Group's absence has been realized and from the TBWS side of things, this almost significantly cuts down on the number of watches we'd usually talk about. But, we thought it would be fun to gather our thoughts so far and update this post throughout the week as we get our hands on the growing pile of press materials. So here are some watches that have stopped up in our tracks-for better or worse.

In these days of globalised production and democratised design it seems like there are more micro watch brands than ever before and, really, most of them are pretty forgettable, all riffing from the same songbook/factory catalogue. The undercut on the 43.5mm case allows for better wrist mobility and the 6.5mm screw-down crown is nestled into the case's curves rather than jutting out completely.
