The Christopher Ward C63 Sealander True GMT fills a conspicuous gap in the brand’s catalogue with a proper ‘flyer’ GMT, complete with an independently adjustable local-time hour hand. A handsome, expensive-looking dial conceals the new CW-002 movement, which is COSC-certified and offers a five-day power reserve - a rare pairing. While collectors have noticed that Christopher Ward’s pricing has risen steadily in recent years, the True GMT makes a compelling case that the technical substance has kept pace. The journeyman brand Christopher Ward (CW) is a brand that is evolving unusually rapidly, and seems to have been in a state of almost constant transformation since it was founded in 2004. The brand has cycled through a number of different logos in a fairly short period of time, which has confused collectors. The product mix has also shifted, reflecting more upmarket ambitions that have priced out fans of the brand’s early budget products. This instability has turned off some collectors, which is understandable - most luxury brands are fairly conservative, in part to emphasise the long-lasting social capital that comes with a purchase. That said, CW seems to have finally found an identity worth sticking to. The new logo, which combines England’s St. George’s Cross and the white cross of the Swiss flag, is simple and appealing, and concisely communicates the English/Swiss origin. Fears and Ace Jewelers Release a Limited Edition Paying Tribute to the De Stijl Movement

Much like art cars, art watches are often divisive; those who favor function tend to dismiss them as wrist candy, while the stylish or art-forward tend to snap them up as fast as possible. So, when a microbrand with a reputation for both mechanical and design prowess decides to make an art watch-in this case, a watch inspired by a recognizable artist-it gets everyone a little giddy, and a little nervous. Enter the newest Fears and Ace Jewelers’ collaboration: the Brunswick 38 De Stijl Edition. Put forth as a partnership between Dutch artistry (as represented by the Amsterdam-based Ace Jewelers) and British refinement (courtesy of Bristol’s own Fears), the De Stijl Edition is inspired by the Dutch artistic movement of the same name, and based on the Fears Brunswick 38 platform. The De Stijl movement was founded by Theo van Doesburg in the early twentieth-century, and its most well-known artist is Piet Mondriaan, whose work has clearly played a large role in the conception of the De Stijl Edition; more on that below.  First, though, let’s take a look at the basics of the Brunswick 38. It features a 38mm stainless steel cushion case that Fears fans will recognize instantly, thanks to now-iconic design elements like the onion-shaped crown and lack of flat surfaces. Being surprised by a dive watch is a rare occurrence at this point in the watch industry, except for a few brands trying to break the mold. The formula is relatively simple. Take a large case, add a snappy bezel, give it a legible design language, and what you end up with tends to be a staple model in your collection. What that leads to, though, is a sea of look-alike options with slightly different specs and price points, leading to enthusiast banter over slight obscurities. However, for a watch to tweak the formula with considered, bold design choices and still win me over is a rare thing. That is why, with over 140 brands and thousands of watches on display, I found myself returning to the Jacques Bianchi booth all three days of the Windup Watch Fair in New York City to handle the JB300 Profonde X Deepsea.edc collaboration dive watch. Unfortunately, if you were not among the over 11,000 attendees at this year’s Windup Watch Fair in NYC and, furthermore, did not manage to squeeze into the Jacques Bianchi booth, your chances of seeing this watch in person are now slim to none. Within hours of officially launching the JB300 Profonde X Deepsea.EDC, all 150 individually numbered units have officially been sold and will be delivered to their excited owners in January of 2026.
