First Look – The new Venezianico Arsenale Calendario, An Accessible Take on the Integrated Bracelet Watch

Founded in 2017, Italian brand Venezianico has caught attention with its stylish, well-priced watches that often play around with materials and design. From pieces inspired by Venetian architecture to a recent Redentore with a guilloché pattern depicting the Venetian lagoon’s tides, there is usually a bit of character in what they do. Inspired by the […]

Venezianico Introduces the Arsenale Calendario

Fresh off the nonstop excitement of Watches & Wonders, it’s easy to ignore any releases that occur outside of the Geneva city limits. The spring is still young, though, and there are still plenty of exciting launches to go in 2026. In that vein, Italian brand Venezianico is doubling down on their mission of Italian-made mechanical timepieces with the new Arsenale Calendario duo, inspired by the Arsenale di Venezia, the world’s oldest shipyard. The Arsenale collection isn’t brand new: the Meteorite model touched on space as a theme, and the Bizantino and Sumi-e watches took more decorative, artistic approaches. The Calendario, though, draws from what Venezianico calls “the architecture of time”. Basically, it adds new complications-a complete calendar, a power-reserve indicator, and a day-night indicator-to emphasize the passing of time in a material way.  In terms of basic dimensions, the Calendario sits within a 316L stainless steel case with a satin finish, and measures in at 40mm in diameter and 44mm lug-to-lug. It’s not exactly thin at 9.6mm of thickness, and the double-domed sapphire adds another 1.4mm on the top, giving it a solid presence despite the dress watch-adjacent design. A knurled stainless steel bezel and screw-down crown at 3 o’clock add texture to the case, and further emphasize the depth of the sunburst dial, which is available in two colorways: burgundy red and blue. These are not subtle shades, and the concentric texture of the dial ...

Introducing: The Venezianico Arsenale Calendario

It’s been a big week here in Geneva, but we’re not done yet! Venezianico, the Venice-based brand, has brought a new take on its popular integrated-bracelet model, the Arsenale. Until now, there have been several options for case materials, dial composition, and a choice of two or three hands. Now, for the first time, we […] Visit Introducing: The Venezianico Arsenale Calendario to read the full article.

Introducing the Venezianico Nereide Verdigris

The beauty of Venice lies in the fact that, despite the precipitous threat of falling into the ocean and being permanently patinated by tourists, pigeons, and the brackish lagoon water of the canals, there is an elegance to it that can’t easily be matched. The irony is not lost on me, dear Reader, to write about the merits of growing older when my forehead is currently pinpricked with 20 milliliters of Botox. And yet, I don’t have the beauty of Venice – nor the self-assuredness of La Serenissima when it comes to aging gracefully. But, luckily for us, Venezianico has developed a watch to honor the changing beauty of the city through its latest watch, the Nereide Verdigris. The idea behind the watch comes from the way Venice evolves over time. Salt air, humidity, and lagoon water gradually transform the city’s metal surfaces, giving copper and brass the green and turquoise tones that have become part of Venice’s visual character. With the Nereide Verdigris, Venezianico brings that same effect to the dial. Each one begins with a brass base that goes through a controlled oxidation process to develop its verdigris patina. Because the metal reacts differently depending on small shifts in temperature, oxygen, and surface conditions, no two dials come out exactly the same. The end result is a heavily textured surface that shifts between green, turquoise, and blue depending on the light, revealing multicolored tones across the dial that is quite bellissima, if you ask me....

Why I Bought The Venezianico Arsenale Bizantino

There are many ways a certain watch can become your next target. Brands hope that presenting their latest creations and making them somewhat rare sparks your desire. For my next watch acquisition, I no longer follow a certain brand’s novelty announcements. Well, in a way, I am following all brands, which I partly justify by […] Visit Why I Bought The Venezianico Arsenale Bizantino to read the full article.

Hands-On With The Impressive Venezianico Redentore Utopia II

We have covered quite a few Venezianico releases over the past two years. If there is one thing that stands out, it’s how the brand has constantly raised the bar in design, quality, and movements. Midway through last year, Venezianico took a bold step into the future with the release of the Redentore Utopia. Venezianico Updates their Most Ambitious Watch with the Redentore Utopia II

If you’re a Mad Men fan like me, then you may remember a particular scene in season 1 where Don Draper and Rachel Menken are having a conversation and the concept of utopia briefly comes up.  “Maybe,” says Rachel, “They taught us at Barnard about that word, ‘utopia’. The Greeks had two meanings for it: ‘eu-topos’, meaning the good place, and ‘u-topos’ meaning the place that cannot be.” While the latter may be true for an ad exec and his department-store-heiress-slash-mistress, it doesn’t have to be for you, dear reader. All thanks to Italian watchmaker, Venezianico, who has released their Redentore Utopia II. Inspired by the Lagoon of La Serenissima, there is undoubtedly a sense of otherworldiness that this watch brings to the market, with its dial decorated with hand-engraved waves, creating a kaleidoscopic effect.  Further inspired by the Neoclassicism of the Palladian Basilica, the textured dial is complemented by a 38mm stainless steel case that offers clean lines and simple ergonomics to balance the intricacies of the dial and the transparent caseback.Visible beyond it is the V5001 calibre, an evolution of the V5000 that marked a turning point for the brand. Made in Italy, the movement maintains a slim 3.5 mm profile and a 60-hour power reserve, all while improving upon previous iterations with elevated finishing, such as bridges and a mainplate treated with a 24-carat gold galvanic coating, radial Côtes de Genève, and fine perlage. The Red...

Introducing: The Venezianico Redentore Utopia II

Venezianico has been an interesting brand to watch. The Venice-based upstart has continuously upped its game since its establishment in 2017. That hasn’t necessarily equated to producing more expensive watches, but we’ve seen the offerings become more focused and an increasing drive toward wearability and improved finishing. Today’s Redentore Utopia II represents the current pinnacle […] Visit Introducing: The Venezianico Redentore Utopia II to read the full article.

IFL Watches has graced us with a wide variety of hand-painted dials for watches from several brands. For the new Arsenale Arlecchino, the two brands take the […] Visit IFL Watches Introduces The Venezianico Arsenale Arlecchino Inspired By The Venice Carnival to read the full article.

I remember the first time I was drawn to learn more about a Venezianico watch. The brand’s Nereide GMT debuted in 2022 in several attractive colorways. Venezianico Introduces the Redentore Utopia, Featuring the Italian Made V5000 Caliber

It tends to be a big deal when a watchmaker unveils their first “in-house” movement, a pivotal milestone that often marks a step into the upmarket. For Italian brand Venezianico, tapping into the expertise of Fausto Berizzi, the technical director of OISA, was the key to their first proprietary mechanical caliber, designed, registered, and built entirely in Italy. The result is the Redentore Utopia, and its beating heart: the V5000 Caliber mechanical movement.  In a break from convention, the Redentore Utopia is more of a stage for the V5000 Caliber movement-a catalyst for the Venezianico brand and its future momentum. Still, Venezianico matches the enthusiasm of the movement with a visually-gripping timepiece that certainly doesn’t signal its status as simply a vessel for the brand’s technical growth. Wearing a 316L stainless steel case that measures at 38mm in diameter and 8.9mm in thickness, the Utopia is firmly a dress watch. The deep blue dial is constructed via ion plating and features a dazzling, hand-engraved guilloché pattern, designed exclusively for the Utopia on a rose engine lathe by master artisan Riccarfo Renzetti. The result is a radial motif that gives the appearance of being in constant motion, with light glancing off each angle as the watch is shifted on the wrist.  On the dial, baton-style, hand-applied indices line the circumference, and faceted alpha hands match the stainless steel case’s polished finish. The sole text detail on the dia...

Introducing: The Venezianico Redentore Utopia - A Huge Step Forward

Admittedly, when Venezianico first hit the scene several years ago, we were skeptical. Was this another fly-by-night brand that would soon disappear into the ether? To our positive surprise, the Italian brand has created some fantastic watches since that time. Today, though, everything changes with the new Redentore Utopia. Late last year, we met with […] Visit Introducing: The Venezianico Redentore Utopia - A Huge Step Forward to read the full article.

Introducing Venezianico To The Windup Watch Shop

Founded by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli in 2017, Venezianico brings a uniquely Italian flair to their watches. Each facet of the brand has been inspired and influenced by their pride in their Venetian home, from their logo - inspired by the cross atop the Clock Tower of St. Mark’s Square, symbolizing time in the lagoon city - to their use of cutting-edge and unusual materials directly tied to Venice’s past. Though young, the Italian brand exhibits a mature design language with each piece offering a bit of the city they love. To welcome Venezianco to the Windup Watch Shop, we are starting with three collections: The Nereide Ceramica, Arsenale, and Nereide Stone Dials. As always, the Windup Watch Team is available via consultation to answer any questions you have. In addition, all of these products are eligible for free domestic shipping across the US. Roughly six months ago, I penned my first article on a Venezianico watch. It was impressive considering I hadn’t heard of the brand. Review: the Venezianico Redentore Bellanotte Worn & Wound
Venezianico Redentore Bellanotte I’ve never Jul 22, 2024

Review: the Venezianico Redentore Bellanotte

I’ve never been to Venice, so I’m ill equipped to comment on how accurate the representation of St. Mark’s Square is on the dial of the new Venezianico Redentore Bellanotte, perhaps the brand’s most ambitious watch to date. What I am prepared to say, however, is that the new watch is impressive, charming, and full of little surprising details. And while it’s ultimately not a watch I’d personally wear day to day, it’s full of individual elements that I really love, and I’ve come away from it genuinely impressed at what Venezianico is capable of producing at what frankly feels like a made up price point. The fact that this watch comes in at under $1,000 is honestly kind of insane.  Let’s back up a bit, though, because Venezianico is a brand that’s still new enough and small enough that they might require an old-fashioned introduction before we get to the watch at hand. As you may have guessed, Venezianico is an Italian brand, founded by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli in 2017. They have a varied collection that includes watches across sport and dress categories, but they’re tied together by design elements inspired by the city of Venice, filtered through a modern design sensibility with little touches of classicism thrown in. The brand prides itself on its engineering acumen and has experimented quite liberally with materials, finding interesting uses for forged carbon, tungsten, mother-of-pearl, and aventurine in watches where you wouldn’t n...
