When Tudor launched the BB58 in 2018 (ref. 79030), it was a deliberate counter to the post-2010 dive-watch inflation that pushed every model up to 41-43mm. 39mm with vintage proportions, gilt printing, cream-aged lume, and the in-house Cal. MT5402 with 70h reserve. The BB58 became the most-recommended modern dive watch under €5K.

Oris's Divers Sixty-Five is the closest-in-spirit dive watch to the BB58 at half the price. 40mm steel case, domed sapphire crystal (with the optical refraction characteristic of a vintage-style diver), Sellita SW200-1 automatic, riveted-look bracelet. Bronze, blue, and bi-colour variants exist. The 36mm version is the smallest.
Longines's 1959 super-compressor reissued at 36mm.
Longines's Legend Diver 36 reissues the 1959 LSD super-compressor with internal rotating bezel. 36mm case (the smallest legitimate dive watch on this list), Cal. L592.4 (ETA-based, 64h reserve), 300m water resistance. Different look from the BB58 (no external bezel) but the same vintage-dive heritage and similar wrist presence.
Doxa's 39mm Sub. Cushion-shape case, no-decompression bezel.
Doxa's Sub 200 brings the brand's cushion-case dive heritage to a 39mm BB58-rival format. Beads-of-rice bracelet, ETA 2824-derived movement, 200m water resistance. The "Searambler" silver, "Professional" orange and "Sharkhunter" black dial variants are signature Doxa. Different silhouette than the BB58 but same small-diver brief.
New York microbrand vintage diver. 39mm × 12.5mm thick.
Lorier's Neptune Series IV is the BB58 alternative most enthusiasts buy when they want microbrand authenticity. Miyota 9039 (no-date, smooth sweep), 39mm × 12.5mm thick (vs BB58 12.6mm), 47mm lug-to-lug. Domed acrylic crystal Lorier still uses for warm vintage refraction. Beads-of-rice bracelet on a stamped clasp.

Baltic's Aquascaphe is a faithful 39mm modern interpretation of late-1950s skin-divers (Blancpain Bathyscaphe, Squale early). Domed sapphire crystal, Miyota 9015 automatic, 200m WR, beads-of-rice bracelet upgrade. €669 retail. The vintage-correct alternative.
Seiko's 1965 62MAS reissued in 41mm with the modern 6R35.
Seiko Prospex SBDC149 references the 1965 ref. 62MAS, Seiko's first dedicated dive watch. 41mm case (slightly bigger than BB58), Seiko 6R35 with 70h reserve, 200m water resistance. The "Save the Ocean" charity blue-dial variants release periodically. Less vintage-styling than the BB58 but stronger dive-watch heritage.
Swiss-made vintage diver under €1,100.
Mido's Ocean Star Tribute is the under-€1,100 Swiss-made vintage diver. Powermatic 80 automatic (80h reserve, silicon balance spring), 40.5mm steel case, 200m water resistance. Cushion-and-circle case shape with vintage-tinged indices. Notably good build for the price.
French diver from 1963. Locking external bezel.
Yema's Superman 200 reissues the 1963 Superman with the brand's signature locking-bezel mechanism (push-down to rotate, releases when let go). 39mm case, French-made movement (Yema Cal. MBP1000), 200m water resistance. Different brief than the BB58 (the bezel-lock is unique) but same vintage-French-tool-watch positioning.
Squale's own-brand 39mm diver. 300m WR.
Squale produced cases for Blancpain, Heuer, and others through the 1960s-70s. Their own-brand Sub-39 is the in-house version: 39mm steel case, domed sapphire, 300m water resistance, ETA 2824 movement. The most-direct vintage-correct alternative to the BB58 from a brand that helped invent the form.
British-Swiss 38mm diver under €1,000.
Christopher Ward's C65 Trident Diver is the under-€1K alternative to the BB58. 38mm case (smaller than BB58), Sellita SW200-1, 150m water resistance, sapphire bezel insert, drilled lugs. CW's direct-to-consumer model puts genuine Swiss-made build at sub-€1,000.
