The middle tier in 2026

Sub-€2,500 is the sweet spot for buyers who've outgrown entry-tier but aren't ready for €5k+. Oris, Longines, and Hamilton dominate; Sinn and Seiko Prospex fill in the tool-watch tier.

We've held two flagships for their own tier: the Tudor Black Bay 58 sits just above this list at ~€3,800 and gets covered in the under-€5k dive list. The under-€2,500 picks here are the ones that make Tudor itself look expensive.

Solid middle-tier roundup, but honestly, before spending 2500 on a Longines, check out what Balticus or Ressence are doing at that price point. Independent brands are getting genuinely interesting with finishing and complications; the marketing overhead you're paying for at established houses is real. Not knocking these picks, just saying the "best under 2500" conversation looks different when you're not anchored to heritage names.
